Vintage Design
A low chinoiserie footstool with intricate hand-painted scenes from rural East Asia, the decorative arts theatre, and music. The ebonised beech frame stands on six block legs united by three central ornate stretchers. Fully reupholstered with hessian and calico to the frame, finished in indigo velvet. A wonderful and rare survivor of Anglo-Chinese workmanship. English, circa 1880.
