Magnificent and ultra rare Art Deco Modernist high back chair. Design by Cor Alons. Striking Dutch design from the 1920s. Solid oak frame with original dark stained back. The rush seat has been renewed. A real eye-catcher for your home or office. In very good original condition with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina. This wonderful and iconic piece of furniture was part of a dining room set with table and three other high back chairs. This set was designed for a small villa designed by the famous Dutch architects Jan Duiker and Bernard Bijvoet. The famous Dutch architect and designer Cor Alons designed all the custom made furniture for this small villa in Kijkduin.
