Vintage Design
After a brief but promising career as a fashion illustrator, French- American designer Raymond Loewy dedicated his talent to the field of graphic and industrial design. Loewy’s creations are still well known today such as his collaborations with Lotus, Shell, Coca Cola and Nasa. This stunning DF2000 sideboard is an example of modern space age design in its purest form. It was produced by the French company Doubinsky Frères in 1968. The choice of materials, particularly the use of plastic, was groundbreaking during its time. Pushing the boundaries of traditional furniture design. The molded plastic drawers have a gradient color pattern from black to a softer tone of brown ending in a light cream color. The sideboard stands in a well kept condition with normal traces of use. No deep scratches in the plastic. We also have a bar cabinet available in the same color gradient.
