Mr. Luigi Colani was given many names. He always saw himself as a visionary, 20 years ahead of everyone else. He wrote design history with his visionary ideas, biomorphic forms and designs that refused to fit into any time. In 1964, the Berlin-born designer settled in Rheda-Wiedenbrück, heralding his most productive creative period. The retreat in the East Westphalian stronghold of the furniture industry allowed him ample space to develop. For COR, he designed the Poly-COR loop chair, moulded from a single casting, as well as the Orbis seating elements. Until the end, his world was and remained round.
