It opens in front of two doors whose panels are carved of curves and counter-curves.The overflowing cornice is flat and molded. There are very beautiful decorations of stylized flowering vases. Fittings, keys and locks are in original wrought iron. The Bresse furniture is known for its masterpiece, the wardrobe. This style developed in the 18th century. It is regional furniture made by local craftsmen who knew how to take advantage of local resources. They use different species of wood allowing a contrasted rendering. The richness of the elements reveals a great finesse in the art of this furniture. La Bresse is a region of France located east of Lyon, the furniture from this region is easily recognizable because of the wood panels. The French call it “the Pays de Bresse”. France, circa 1800
