What a wonderful find! This particular original vintage round dining table. A design by Poul Kjaerholm, the ultimate design classic. This minimalist design object is absolutely a must have for the lover of Danish design. Designed in 1963 by Poul for Ejvind Kold Christensen. Two years after the death of Poul Kjaerholm (in 1982) Fritz Hansen was given the honour of bringing The Kjærholm Collection back into production. The PK54 is a timeless design with a metal base and marble top. The marble comes from Italy and has a beautiful veining. The top has a beautiful rough structure. The combination of the natural material marble and the hard metal gives this table an imposing look. The base is marked with: Poul Kjaerholm, Denmark, Fritz Hansen. Definitely an investment in the interior. Poul Kjaerholm is known for his designs with metal, he felt that metal deserved as much respect as wood which was an obvious material at the time.
