Second-half 19th century Italian Grand Tour model of Pauline Bonaparte Borghese as Venus Victrix in exquisitely carved alabaster; the nude figure reclining on a neoclassical récamier with apple in hand after the original life-sized sculpture carved by Antonio Canova. Pauline Bonaparte as Venus Victrix (or Venus Victorious) is a semi-nude life-size reclining neoclassical portrait sculpture by the Italian sculptor Antonio Canova (1 November 1757 – 13 October 1822). Reviving the ancient Roman sculptural tradition of mortals portrayed as gods and of the female form reclining on a couch (as in the reclining portrayals of Hermaphroditus), it was commissioned by Camillo Borghese, the second husband of Pauline Bonaparte and sister of Napoleon, and executed in Rome from 1805 to 1808, after her marriage into the Borghese family in 1803. It was moved to the Galleria Borghese in Rome circa 1838 where it still resides.

Enameled metal painting of a boy with his animal headdress that has been bent to fashion painted twigs behind that extend beyond mounted wood backing. An entry in the 1984 Yavapai County Women in the Arts exhibition in Arizona.

We love this colourful painting! Original oil on board painting of the most iconic street in Hong Kong known as “Ladder Street”. This landmark street is also associated with the book and movie – Suzie Wong.
The painting is infused with a wonderful energy, colour and activity typical of Hong Kong.
Colourful shop awnings hang over the street shading the vendors. From the Peak area down to the street level – this art work captures the essence of the city.
The street consists entirely of steps and landings formed by granite slabs or concrete paving. It was named because it extends straight up and down like a ladder. The street has been listed as a Grade 1 historic area and was constructed between 1841 and 1850.
Brilliant brush and pallet knife work with rich colours and thick impasto.

Signed to the underside, this blue glass and black sand-like molded base sculpture is shaped to look like a thick shard of glass held within a lava-like textured base. The base has raised face designed that are partially obscured by the black base. The sculpture is signed “MARTINEZ RAYMOND” to the underside.

Tropical and colorful original painting on hardboard canvas by Kristyna O’Hop. This pretty painting is signed and titled on the reverse ‘4 Macaws- Petersburg Sunken Gardens Oil by Kristyna O’Hop.’ It depicts four cheerful macaws perched on a branch together, and is presented in a thick 2-1/2″ wood frame with a gold painted finish. It has a quirky and whimsical quality perfect for a colorful home.
