Vintage Design
Mid-Century teak nightstands by Kuperes, model called ‘Horatio’, pictured in the 1964 ‘Goed Wonen’ magazine, catalogue, pg 60. The fine teak material makes a perfect compliment to the thin black metal frames, which create a floating, light appearance. The clean, angular shapes are very symbolic for post-war European design, reflecting the new era of Danish style inspired furniture. During the sixties. Dutch company Kuperus was clearly influenced by the designs of Auping ( Carrelle series ), Cees Braakman / Pastoe ( Japanese series ) and Hans Wegner.
Both great condition, minor marks. Color and grain difference but both are teak. One is 31 depth, one is 30.5 cm depth.
Great opportunity, hard to find as a set.
