Vintage Design
A unique chair, model “Corona”, designed by Poul Volther and manufactured by Erik Jorgensen in Denmark in 1964. This iconic chair is made of beautiful quality chrome plated metal and newly upholstered in high quality red fabric. It’s elliptical design gives it an outstanding appearance as well as a very comfortable seating experience. This amazing chair would make a perfect addition to any mid-century / modern interior, and would also look great in an office space. Considered Volther’s masterpiece, the Corona Chair was first designed in 1961. The original consisted of a wooden skeleton on which a series of oval cushions provided the seat and the rising back. The idea was that it would allow the body to relax in various positions. The following year, as the result of cooperation between Volther and the recently established Erik Jørgensen furniture factory, a new model with a chrome-plated steel frame was marketed in 1964. But it was still far from successful.
